About This Position
Auto Body Refinish Technician. Minimum 3 years experience in automotive refinishing. I-CAR training is helpful but not required. Must be experienced in tinting and blending techniques for collision repair. Attention to detail and a high quality standard are a must. A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.

Job Responsibilites
- Apply paint as per Dave’s Body Shop and factory specifications
- Check for and rectify paint imperfections
- Color tinting
- Polishing and buffing
- Thoroughly reads and reviews each repair order prior to beginning work on the vehicle (reading and understanding estimate).
- Completes all paint preparation processes for vehicles according to Dave’s
Body Shop and factory specifications - Prime, edge of jamb replacement parts.
- Sand and prep for paint, new parts and blend panels
- Sand and feather edge surface for primer
- Able to properly block panels for refinishing
- Able to mask and spray the correct amount and coats of primer
- Able to mask all panels and cover car to minimize tapelines and overspray on the vehicle
- Ability to de-nib and polish
Contributes to maintaining acceptable cost per paint labor hour - Knows status of assigned vehicles and helps problem solve on getting and keeping all vehicles on schedule
- Consistently utilizes all required safety equipment and follows proper refinishing procedures in compliance with OSHA guidelines
- Adheres to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal
- Follow vendors procedures to maintain all tools and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work space
- Performs other duties assigned by management
Qualifications/Desired Skills
- 3 years experience
- Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment
- MUST be able to wear protective equipment, including respirator
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.
- Ability to learn and retain new information and adapt to a changing environment
- Reliable, self motivated, ability to stay productive
- Ability to organize and manage daily tasks
- Ability to communicate with and keep team informed of repair process
